I'm also for Red Octane. I had problems with the GH3 Les Pauls, but my GHWT guitar has lasted since day one to today.

AsianSteev: if you can read this, put more Ska songs on the RBN! Please?

As a GameStop employee, I'd like to say that Madcatz did a horrible job at their "redistribution". In the fall, the managers have a conference which they attend which is like a mini game convention. My boss told me that during the Madcatz presentation their mention of Rock Band 3 was maybe a casual sentence at most. Over the holiday season, we had a total of 2 guitar bundles and 2 bass bundles. I never saw a keys bundle or pro guitar bundle. Rock Band 3 (new for 360) does not even have a SKU in GameStop's system anymore. I get customers at least once every one or two weeks looking for Rock Band 3 and I have to tell them that they can only get it through download. This option turns many off. That number is not an exaggeration. I have people come in for Rock Band 3 all of the time. There is a surprising demand and I'm disappointed that I can't help them. People look for guitars, drums, keyboards at least a couple times a month and they leave empty-handed.
I just wanted to express my disappointment in Madcatz. The same situation occurred as with the Squier. The companies stopped manufacturing products when they weren't even meeting the demand.
The only Rock Band peripheral we have left in our store is a keyboard stand.
I like the RedOctane idea. I sadly don't think it would wind up coming together. Madcatz can manufacture their own products but Harmonix would have to find a new place to manufacture instruments. They stopped making them in-house because it was costing them money.
I have spent I think close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold.
What about Peavey as a potential Pro-Guitar maker? They already have this 5 button controller:

Peavey seem like a company that is interested in advancing music technology.
Why have I never heard of this before? It has finger sensing tech and strings? WTF? Why is this some sort of secret???
I realize that it probably wasn't designed for PRO modes (although I can't tell one way or the other from the link, but I'm guessing this predates RB3), but it means that you are right. Peavey would jump into the game controller market.
I still don't understand why this is the first I'm hearing about it.

What?! "Sky Pie"? How come I've been "pronouncing" it "Skype" all this time?
Lawdog - "That may be the dirtiest thing anyone has ever said on here."
Because the 1 is silent?
When I made a youtube channel so very long ago, "skypie" was somehow taken. Go figure that one out.
I checked for a channel and to this day never saw the skypie channel.
In any even I didn't want to be "skypie1" because that simply shouts that I was late to the party.
So, I went with skyp1e (had to be a one word name with no symbols like underscores) and now to avoid confusion I create my screen name with the numeral whenever I register somewhere.
And now you know the rest of the story.

Logitech. I love my LT premium guitar.
Or Red Octane isn't a bad option either.
That said, I've been quite happy with the MadCatz pro cymbal kit I got.
