Why does the featured artist have to be mentioned with the main artist (Santana ft. Rob Thomas), why can't you put those things into the song title instead (Smooth ft. Rob Thomas) to prevent sorting issues?

Bloc Party.
On the one hand, I agree that "classic rock" traditionally doesn't including anything after the 1990s. On the other hand, the song is over 10 years old, and back when classic rock radio first started, many songs they played were not yet 10 years old.
Either way, I'll be sure to stay off your lawn.
Because lawyers.
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!
Genre's no biggie. There's discrepancies in that all the time. Only time it really matters is Genre Setlists. It's not like it affects Quickplay at all.
Maybe it's a licensing thing? Who knows. Kinda wish we'd get an official answer from somebody at Harmonix. I made a thread about this issue not too long ago, but there was no solid answer as to why the featuring artist would be in the artist field not at the end of the song title.

I actually responded earlier in the thread that my expectation was it would just be credited to Santana, as listed in the announcement and press release. Here's that quote from earlier in the thread:
Short answer:
Sorry that this came as a surprise (it was to me as well), but hopefully it won't affect anyone's decision to purchase the track. I'll check with the Audio Team to make sure we have the in game library listing synced up with the announcement, press release and blog post in the future.
So of course someone will ask me what I thought of the vocal chart, because it's my "natural voice". Grrr.
Not too sure about that poll either, oh wait yes I am, don't worry about it.
The song is definitely too good to pass up because of minor sorting issues, it's just awkward and inconsistent. It's times like these that make me happy for not having any OCDs.
Bloc Party.
It is annoying but its not like its the first time it has happened.
