Prediction Thread hints discussion (formerly 3/20 prediction thread)

I think a really cool idea would be to allow us forum-goers to supply the hints every Thursday. HMX or the mods can select a different person each week to give hints in the prediction thread. The person who holds that responsibility can do no more than 3-4 hints or something along those lines. This would get the forum community more involved in the process while also allowing those who get to give the hints a chance to show off their creativity.

I like the idea of a mod or HMXHenry starting the prediction thread each week because this allows them to announce who will be giving the hints that Thursday. This way we know for sure who is giving the actual hints, rather than someone just saying "hey, I'm doing the hints this week", and that person goes and feeds us a bunch of red herring.

I don't know what the selection process would be for choosing a person each week. I don't think Henry or the mods want their inboxes flooded with "oooohh pick me this week, please!". Just an idea to help get hints back into our Thursday predictions.

I'm fairly certain less than 5 of them would know who Meat Loaf are. Even my best friend, who minors in music in college, never heard of them until I asked him why everyone loved them so much.

All HMX has to say is if someone spills the beans early or somehow breaks the status quot, then they stop having forum-goers deliver hints each week. It can be done; I know that some people on here have helped with hints in the past. If you have any solutions or ideas that would be better suited for the forums, then please put it out there so Henry can make note of it.

On the subject of people setting themselves up for disappointment, I don't think there's anything you can do to stop that. The only time I recall things getting out of hand is when people were convinced that Elton John was coming one week. Maybe the #1 most requested song, but that week I was more annoyed by the people spamming completely random songs with no reasoning.
