Prediction Thread hints discussion (formerly 3/20 prediction thread)

I, too, am all for a mod-created, organized prediction thread with some clues. It was more interesting with the clues, and really, if someone does get it right, if you don't reveal it to be true, no one knows until the official announcement. Also, while some people get upset over their guesses being wrong, I think that would happen with or without clues. And even if your statistics are correct and the thread view count hasn't changed much with the absence of clues, the involvement has died down more than a bit. People view once, predict Muse and leave. It used to be a lot more fun.

What I'm saying is, let the mods have their creative juices put to something that will entertain us every week. I used to look forward to these threads. Now I just graze over and move on to other sites.

So while the metrics don't make a very compelling argument or a strong case either way, the thing I'm most interested is in the more intangible element of this "fun" thing many of you are talking about. The forums aren't just stats and numbers, it's a place we want people to hang out and have fun and if people are going make a strong argument for something like hints we're all for considering it provided we're able to do it in an organize way with a respectful understanding that we can't control the expectations of people posting.

The prediction threads with mod hints were probably some of the most fun and active threads I've seen here. Beyond that, discussing interesting stuff you leak to us if always fun, even if folks get hyped up for something. You can't please everyone, and it's even harder with music, when folks are passionate about the subject.

On a side note, perhaps this discussion might be better served being pulled from this prediction thread and moved into it's own thread? If for no other reason than for it to not get closed tomorrow morning.

For what it's worth, it was Apples' Photoshop/MS Paint hints that constantly made me come back to the forums (that and his story about all the posters down in general subforum). Before that I didn't have an account and used Wikipedia to learn of the DLC every Friday at 2 30 pm
