It's not like they had X masters in one hand and Weird Al masters in the other. The same could be said about a lot of other artists. Let's drop this before it turns into a Moar Muse debate, only more irrelevant as this project goes on.

And I could substitute in a good number of artists or packs for things that would outsell Weird Al! Unfortunately, Harmonix hasn't had four straight years of DLC by making a 'hypothetical sales ladder' and then only pursuing the very top one that MIGHT outsell everything else.
Saying Weird Al wanted to be in Rock Band really isn't all that good an argument. I could just go say Dream Theater wanted their whole discography in RBN, and their label was like, "How about instead of your discography, you go **** yourself?" Even if you want to argue RBN vs HMX DLC, I've still got two singles over four years that say maybe Dream Theater DLC isn't spitting money at Harmonix like the forums want it to be.

I wish we could get Dare to Be Stupid, but alas, not possible. Can't wait for CNR though.

Irrelevant to the discussion. I never claimed "Weird Al" would sell the most, only that he would sell better than a good number of artists in Rock Band today.
I also never assumed anything. It just seems strange that "Weird Al" would be absent from the game. I mean, his latest album debuted at number 9 on Billboard's Top 200 chart, so it seems that as popular as he is, there would be a market for him in Rock Band.
At any rate, it's not my desire to derail the thread. I'm ecstatic we're getting "Weird Al." I'm just saddened it took four years to finally get him in.

"Heard It Through the Grapevine" is a lot of fun on Guitar but drums, bass and vocals (or at least half the song for vocals) aren't anything to write home about.
Not every song that comes out is going to be a rock and roll time for all 4 (now 5) instruments. But thankfully we're evolving past that phase where if it was boring on guitar it was a terrible DLC song.
