Simple business logic to start out with the songs nobody wants? No, you start with the hits that everyone wants and THEN go into the deep cuts, if people like them. People have listed a solid 5 to 10 songs they'd prefer over songs like "CNR" and "Germs" which would be incredibly boring on nearly every instrument, and would get people off on a really bad foot. We'd see a bunch of people saying "See? Weird Al isn't a good artist for Rock Band because his songs aren't fun to play"

To be fair, "Dare to Be Stupid" is going to be involved, so they aren't shunning the hits completely. Besides, anyone who cares about Weird Al (and that's a lot of people) won't abandon ship so quickly because of unconventional song choices.

His hits get a bit more sparse when you talk original material anyway, so not a big surprise. The two really well known ones are probably Dare and You Don't Love Me Anymore.
I'd love most of the ones off "Off The Deep End". Trigger Happy would be a lot of fun, and we're missing a lot of beach rock.

I love Weird Al, but I would not spend money on "Germs," "CNR," or maybe even "When I Was Your Age," considering they'd suck to play.
As mentioned by myself and several other people, there are plenty of Weird Al hits that people love to listen to, would love to play, and are on the same albums as these choices.

As a huge Weird Al fan, I'm excited to see him get some Kickstarter attention with this. That being said, the choices needs more "You Make Me" (Oingo Boingo style parody), "She Never Told Me She Was a Mime" (original), "Frank's 2000" TV" (REM style parody), "Your Horoscope For Today" (SKA!!!), "My Baby's In Love With Eddie Vedder", "If That Isn't Love" (Hanson style parody).
But quite frankly, I'd just be happy if we got any Weird Al, so I'll shut up now...
If TAG doesn't go for Weird Al solely because we can't agree on songs (or more, the entire fan base doesn't like the songs they chose), then they probably don't have the audacity to get Weird Al in the first place. So it's not like we should just shut up and take whatever's given to us. If we're gonna get Weird Al on Rock Band, we're gonna get great Weird Al on Rock Band. Songs that will sell well, songs that people will love, so Weird Al will sit back and go "wow, they love me!" not "wow, I can't believe everyone bought Dare To Be Stupid but none of the other songs".
That being said, I think TAG is completely capable, and I think that they are more than understanding of the differences in what they feel we want and what they really want. I would have loved a little more discussion before shoving these four songs down our throat, though.
