I vote only do Dare to be Stupid. It's only one song, so it'd be a fast financial goal to hit, and both TAG and the community would benefit, one from seeing roughly how long it takes to hit X benchmark(which will of course vary, but still), and the other seeing roughly how much they'd need to pour into one song and plan accordingly later.

Also, you could flaunt it to other license holders of Weird Al's other material if you really wanted to.

The thing is there's actually a cost savings for going after 3 songs or more at once.

    ☐ Alexisonfire ☐ Billy Talent ☐ Cake ☐ Cream ☐ ELO ☑ Heart ☐ Kinks
☐ Neil Young ☐ OLP ☐ Sex Pistols ☑ Sublime ☐ Supertramp ☐ ZZ Top

Mhmm, but this is a first attempt. One song out quickly might be better than realizing we'd have to flounder to reach the amount needed for a few.

Call Noble an optimist. It's not really my preferred route either but I'm not a Weird Al fan (sorry folks). I'd much prefer starting with other bands that I like (cough* OLP cough*) but I have faith in the community and Noble. He's strange but does a pretty good job running TAG; even if he teases too much.

Personally I would have gone with "Craigslist" in the fashion of The Doors, hopefully you can license that but if you can't then it is what it is. Please take a look?

Yeah, I'd have to say I prefer original artist for almost anything and that includes covers.

Weird Al, when you look solely at his original work, is a fantastic artist. It takes a certain skill to be able to satirically represent a genre like that.

Hey, if you guys are considering CNR, why not Ringtone? It's got great guitar, piano, bass, drums, and vocal harmonies. What else could you want?

    That's not an original song.

It's an Italian stereotype flavored straight up parody of the song "La Bamba".

His image was revamped? He looks about the same to me in every picture I've ever seen...except maybe he bought some contacts or got LASIK at some point.

He shaved his trademark mustache at around the same time he got LASIK.

He actually told a hilarious story about the LASIK on the WTF podcast (starts right at the 45-minute mark).
