Logitech Wireless Guitar (Xbox 360) - Compatibility and Opinions

I'm looking to buy this guitar to replace my old Guitar Hero World Tour guitar which is completely broken. Basically:

    * The Orange/Blue frets gets stuck at times (not physically)
    * The strum bar squeaks
    * The 'start' buttons do not work
    * The 'start' button registers when I'm not pressing it and it registers hundreds of times really quickly
    * Inserting the batteries turns the guitar on automatically, and if I turn my Xbox off without turning my guitar off first, the guitar fires up the 360 again!

I'm looking to get the orange Logitech wireless guitar which at the moment is half the price of the Rock Band 3 Stratocaster wireless 5 button guitar on Amazon UK.

What I need to know is, do you know if this guitar is compatible with Rock Band 3 and if so has anyone tried it? What do you think of it?

Lastly by the problems above is my old guitar worth fixing, or is it not worth the bother?
Come on lets give these 5 artists some DLC love please!

It will work fine in RB3 but no solo buttons and I suppose it goes without saying the touchstrip does not work in RB3. Since you are using a GHWT guitar now this is likely a non-issue for you.

Several people on the modding forums have them and like them quite a bit. They have even been converted to PS3 due to this like of them. :P

I used one and was dissappointed that for the heft of it that it was not full sized. I preffered the Starpex as a GH style buttoned full sized wood guitar but that is only available for PS3 so.. moot point.

It's too bad it does not appear the Mad Catz wood body premium guitar is not available there as I feel this is the best premium full sized guitar available for XBOX. (RB Style frets however so...)

If you prefer the GH style fret buttons and a less than full sized guitar it (The Logitech) should work well for your application and last a long time.

Thats my over caffinated .02 on the subject.
All I am offering is the truth... nothing more...

Thanks for the informative response Doc. The touchpad is a non-issue for me. I didn't even like using it when I was a GH player.

I was quite tempted by the official Wooden Fender, but its not widely available in the UK. There is one or two floating around on ebay to buy at about £120 but becuase it comes from the US it'll cost almost £50 to get it shipped over here. I just can't justify spending THAT amount of money on a standard controller. My head ALWAYS rules my heart!

I'm quite used to the size and the fret distance of my now dead controller. Its lasted since I brought GH World Tour 2 or 3 weeks after release so I figure its done quite well

Thanks once again, I'll get the Logitech one ordered before that disappears, I have just seen the same one sold by the same seller (TrustedGoods.com) but on play.com for £69.99!

I loved it, including the size. But I had one issue...

The thickness of the neck made it hard, almost impossible, to play Green-Orange notes together. The button spacing is exactly the same as a normal GH controller, but the added thickness makes it hard to get your fingers to space out that far. Also the edges are sharp, which made it a painful experience during expert.

Mine broke after a month because it would ghost strum(double strum), but most people had no issues and Logitech were amazing to work with and issued a refund(discontinued, they had no extras to replace mine).
