GigakoopsRBN wants to know: How do you want keys on Hagroth's "Prey of the Dragon?"

Hello, a few months back I announced a while back that I would be authoring this song here, and that we were going to make keys a rhythm guitar section, with one version being reduced for keys players and one version (the 2x Bass Pedal Version) having an all-out, unedited chart featuring rows of strummed 16th notes where they would be on any normal guitar chart.

However, after some thought, I want to know what you, the audience, have to say. Do you even want a reduced version of the chart? Do you think a reduced version would be better off released, like in the video? Do you think guitar on keys is a terrible idea, and should never be done (Fallout Boy be damned)? Please note that if any of the former two are implemented, Pro Keys will be reduced for one hand.

Please comment below and answer the poll above, and I'll take into consideration your answers.

I have always hated charts where an instrument that can be played on another is authored to something else. Living Dead Girl's bagpipes on guitar, The Show Must Go On's piccolo on guitar, Force's lead guitar on keys.

But that could be just me.

I like force's lead guitar on keys because it allows for keys to be in it and the other guitar to be played. But the other 2 songs I agree with. I don't mind guitar on keys as long as there is already a guitar on the actual guitar instrument.
People like Weird Al, Parry Gripp and Paul & Storm make music fun and funny. Bring on Classic Rock!!

Just because keys can be played on guitar doesn't mean that keyboard charts should be authored for the guitar with no indication that it's meant to be played that way. There are a few songs that author guitar on the keys chart (In a Big Country, Now I'm Here), but those are rare and all feel natural to play with no reductions.

(I'm pretty sure The Show Must Go On is all guitar)

I think the Rock Band Network is the best place to premiere the first lead/rhythm guitar song that uses keys. I think you should just put the full guitar chart on keys and let people go at it (similar to the upper/lower keys on those classical pieces)

I mean, think about it, the "bass" part for those classical pieces use the 3-note Green/Orange chords and so on, things that should only exist on keys, and they passed just fine.

Not everybody reads these forums and would know the exceptions that make the "guitar"/"bass"/"keys" labels meaningless. If a chart labeled "keys" is unplayable on keys, it shouldn't pass. The classical songs probably shouldn't have passed with those chords either.

Testers were notified constantly that those songs were charted as a keys chart, and HMX accepted this. If they didn't think it should pass, then they would have intercepted and told the author that the current authoring was unacceptable.

After some thought and deliberations, I've decided against charting guitar on keys for now. Not only is it needlessly complex to both chart and play, but it also seems a lot of you are against the idea.

I may try this again with a different song in the future, maybe one that I won't have to reduce so much for keys players.

Dem trills, indeed. It's one of two Queen songs I still need to FC because of them, and there's only two FCs of it on Xbox.
