I think it's a smart move to make the songs exportable. There will probably be a decent chunk of people who buy the game just to do that and never even play Blitz.

Overall, I'm more excited by the idea of this game than VidRhythm or Phase. The idea that it supports all existing DLC is another smart move to make sure it has some longevity to it. I'll try it and probably do my best to get its achievements.

It's an amazing deal for us RB aficionados, but RBB isn't aimed at us, HMX wants to reel in the casuals to broaden the target audience. And the stereotypical casual will say: "1600msp? Waiting till it's Deal of the Week!!!".

Couldn't care less about the game itself, since I play rhythm games almost exclusively for the simulation aspect, but I'm curious to see what the tracklist is.

Unfortunately, I'm among the disappointed. Was really hoping for a stripped down, no avatars, no venues, no trainers, no tours, no setlists, no room for PS3 bugs...just a downloadable pick up your instrument find other players or play solo, and quick play the tracks on your hard drive.

That said, this would have made a great alternate play mode to what I was hoping for, but as a stand alone, not so much, for me.

...as long as us Wii users can get the songs on DLC, I'm fine with it....

So it's pretty much Rock Band Unplugged for the console? To me, this does seem a step backward from the usual Rock Band, 2 steps backward considering the step forward they made with pro instruments. Well, at least I'm looking forward to importing "Jessie's Girl" and "Pumped Up Kicks" to Rock Band 3

Among all the suggestions I've seen...

Why? What would a stripped down, no-frills RB3 offer at all? Aside from the lack of glitches, which may not even be true?

For all the people saying this is a step backwards... HMX is a company that makes video games...... Not everything has to be realistic with these pro instruments. I think they know not everyone is even skilled enough to attempt the pro instruments. Blitz will be playable by anybody, will probably be just as addicting as regular rockband... and the songs are compatable both ways.. I mean seriously how can you go wrong. This is a step in a perfect direction.

The next FULL rock band game will be very focused on pro, making it avaiable to everyone, having extremely good trainers while also having a good story and the same rock band legacy fun.

    ... i hope =)

I got into Rock Band for the "rock star fantasy" and "fun party gameplay" elements. So, unfortunately for me, RB Blitz doesn't appeal to my interests.

Like a lot of people, however, I'll probably be picking it up as a track pack. So long as it has at least 10 songs I want (and we're good on 4 of 5 so far), it will be a good value for DLC for RB3.

Given RB3's emphasis on Pro Mode (and only Rocksmith, another Pro-focus game, still active as the competition), I was hoping this game might be a throwback to appeal more to sort of gameplay that hooked me on RB in the first place (a tour mini-game, some type of online band/matchmaking utility, etc.).

On the bright side, hopefully this will keep DLC sales enough to keep RB3 weeklyDLC viable for that much longer.

From what I have seen, this is just going to be a disk I pick up to export the songs.

I do think this is a wise move on the part of HMX and that it will sell well. Especially since nothing is needed but the standard console controller. But for me, I have no interest in the game play and playing a music game without music specific controllers.
