Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I'm so sure you listened to an accurate representative sample of what the RBN offe--actually I'm sure you haven't. Not because I'm being snarky, but because no such sample could accurately be made. There's just too much and too much variety on RBN to be able to conscientiously say "most of it is garbage." It's every bit as wrong as it would be to say that about official DLC.

First off, I would consider most of the official DLC also as garbage. Second, I was not basing RBN on one sample alone as I have heard through many of them, practically all and I consider most of them not worthy of a purchase. Of course this is just my opinion based on my own music preference. No one has to follow my opinions nor would I believe anyone would.

I explained in another post why continuing to invest in the Wii version is a sunk-cost fallacy. The question is how important legacy imports are to you--either you can switch to a 360 now and save money in the future (heck, you can even keep your Wii version around for the time being until you've built your library back up), or you can hold out until the Wii userbase discover DLC and it upshoots significantly in popularity and Harmonix determines it is financially viable to start bringing in legacy imports and also Satan starts opening up soft-serve in Hell.

I read that other post when it was originally posted and you make some good points about not sticking with a version that is getting little to no support. The big thing is that I didn't go in knowing all those limitations. Far as I knew, they had talked about RB3 for the Wii being on par with the other console versions minus the graphics. They didn't mention the 1000 song limit. They didn't say it would require updates or that we would get cut off from the RBN songs (Sure, I understand they couldn't have predicted the lack of sales for RBN songs on the Wii). Or maybe they did mention all those things and I completely missed it.

Apparently I also missed the fact that you cannot import all those legacy songs. Did they even mention that? I didn't know about it before I bought it, otherwise I would have thought twice before getting it for this system.

Most of the Legacy songs are definitely songs I would like to import but not so much that I would invest everything again on a new system just to obtain those songs. And I understand that it's not cost feasible for Harmonix to release them. I know that us Wii owners will likely never see the light of day on those tracks and I can accept that, but that doesn't mean I'm just going to stop whining about it because whining about it as all I have left.

The only way I would finally just give up and start over on a new system would be if Harmonix also stopped giving us the official DLC songs and their pro upgrades. So as long as they keep that up, I'll grudgingly continue using the Wii version and only occasionally whine about the legacy stuff. For me, that's doing my part as a Wii owner.

They didn't say it would require updates, sure, but at the same time you never know you're going to need updates until problems arise. Between Harmonix requiring a hard release date for all platforms (since they were also moving to the new DLC format on that day and MTV Games probably trying to get the product out the door so they could make some money before they sold Harmonix off), they were kind of in a situation where they had to release the game on the day they stated they would, updates be damned. Heck, even official Nintendo software has had bugs that they couldn't patch post-release.

The 1000-song limit is similar to the 2952-song limit on the other platforms--a song limit high enough that most people aren't going to reach it, particularly on the Wii, where so few people actually download content especially compared to the other platforms. And even then, a Wii user at least has the option of swapping out SD cards, whereas PS3/360 users most likely have all their DLC on their hard drive and don't have the same luxury.

Apparently I also missed the fact that you cannot import all those legacy songs. Did they even mention that? I didn't know about it before I bought it, otherwise I would have thought twice before getting it for this system.
They said "import songs and DLC from previous Rock Band games," but only ever mentioned RB2 and GD:RB for the Wii.

Fair enough. As long as the wheel doesn't squeak too much, since it knows it's not getting greased anytime soon, some squeaking is acceptable.

I have a feeling you'll be doing this for some time to come.

I just hope HMX really does this. it would suck so bad if they don't. i think it'll be easier to deal now than after the release just with like all the exports that never happened.

I would also like the sound track as DLC! I am not really that interested in Rock Band Blitz the game as much as I am a 25 song track pack!!! Please HMX... Don't leave us out!!!
Wii wants RB1 and L:RB export to RB3!!!!
