Also I'm rather surprised at the lack of Jack White.
He doesn't solo often on record, so that's probably another reason. Jack really cuts loose live.

So here are a few opinions/observations of mine on this list...

Cinnamon Girl (#76) - I think something else from EBKTINW would have been a little better, ie Down By The River or Cowgirl in the Sand.

And You Bird Can Sing (#69) and Sweet Jane (#81) - I don't understand where the guitar solos are in these two.

Eruption (#2) and You Really Got Me (#59) - It's interesting, that Eruption opened Van Halen's cover of You Really Got Me. Just a weird notice.

Under A Glass Moon (#98) - This could have switched spots with Geek USA, or In Bloom.
We need sludgey and droney and stonery metal:
    Dirge
    Sleep
    Bongripper
    Sunn O)))
    Electric Wizard
    Earth
    Neurosis
    Cult of Luna

The song is barely two minutes long and nearly half of it is the solo. The first begins at the 1 minute mark, the second begins at the 1:44 mark and goes to the end of the song.

One of my favorite guitar solos in a song. I'm glad it made the list!

    That makes more sense. Thanks!

The guitar solo in "Sweet Jane" is in the beginning. Don't know why it's on here, though, since it's really short.

Looks like another Mainstream Magazine's list to validate songs that are already well known. Would like to see a list like this about 100 metal guitar solos although that would be better off being left to metal-centric magazines otherwise they might put a Limp Bizkit song with no solos in said list.

That or "100 Greatest Guitar Solos from songs you've heard over and over again ad nauseum since you were a kid." On second thought, "the 100 most iconic guitar solo's of all time" works better since it's shorter.
Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:

    Bathory []
    Bal Sagoth []
    Amorphis []
    Emperor [X]

I think we all do. Who knows, it may happen eventually. Looks like an RBN release IMO.

It's okay, at the very least not nearly as bad as the worst solos list. We're Not Gonna Take It made the list for "merely aping the song’s melody", and while I think those kinds of solos are overrated, that didn't stop them from putting Smells Like Teen Spirit on their greatest solos list. And what part of It's Still Rock and Roll to Me can be considered a guitar solo?

Urgh, that worst solos list is just pure crap.
