Yay, my birthday is coming up. Throwing a small RB party.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this before. My birthday is this Sunday and I'm bringing my XBOX etc. to my parents house for the event.

To be honest, it's just gong to be my wife, kids, my parents and my brother plus his girlfriend.

Now, my brother has never had any exposure to Rock Band or anything like it. He's a musician too and plays mostly brass instruments (trumpet is his main axe), but he also plays guitar pretty well (much better than I play guitar).

So, I made characters for him and his GF. Now, I nailed him perfectly so he's nothing to worry about. However, I've come as close as I can to his girl friend and I'm thinking to myself "wow, is she going to be insulted by this toon!". I mean using the tools we have in the game, I've come close to what she looks like, but it's much more like one of those caricatures that artists make of celebrities that are less than flattering. I can't seem to tone it down so it's more real (like all my other avatars so far) and less "you have a pig nose and droopy eyes HAH!" dealies.

Should I just scrap her toon and let her use a generic? But if I do that she might feel I didn't think she was worth the time to craft a toon for her. Should I LIE and make her toon hawt?

I made a V for Vendetta charachter specifically for my Girlfriend/Friends that doesn't play RB too much. When I designed my bandmates charachters I always did it with them. I think that we spent a whole afternoon together by choosing the right clothes when I got RB3. It's not something THAT personal to offend anyone, however.

Anyway, I hope that your wife will bake you a... Sky Pie.

I wouldn't let it worry you. I don't really think much of the generic characters in the game, they just don't seem that realistic. I think its pretty awesome to create characters of people you know in real-life, it just adds to the experience imo. Keep it under wraps until they play the game, see if they recognise themselves

I've done a similar thing, except i've made a band made up of what are basically myself and some of my work colleagues (of which we are also close friends outside of work). I have shown them my Youtube videos featuring them on the smart TVs we have in-store, and they were pretty impressed I think, seeing as I spent quite a while getting them to look right.

I look almost like my character, except from really the build and the shape of the nose, and the male character with the longer, spiked hair, the hair isn't quite right and the eyes are a different colour. I'm quite proud of the female one which I think looks the most realistic of the four.
