Rock Band: Japan (And the cancellation)

Is anyone else disappointed in the cancellation of Rock Band: Japan and or the lack of J-Rock/J-Pop DLC?

I think a union between Harmonix and a lot of the companies who produce music in Japan would be a HIT. There is so much to feature with Anime and Tokusatsu shows being VERY popular there. Using themes would be one thing but also some of the big bands there too.

But again we DID get The Beatles Rock Band which took a lot out of the bank to produce DLC for AND we have all of the features in Rock Band 3 plus 3k available songs, and now Rock Band Network 2.0. We have a lot to be thankful for.

Down the road does anyone think that PERHAPS we could get something going with the Japanese music industry? Or has that possibility set sail long ago with the cancellation of Rock Band Japan?

Perhaps suggestions on what we could've seen if such a deal existed?

    Discuss.

I cant say I'm disappointed with its cancellation. I'm not really into all that Japanese music but I'd give it a listen if we get any. At this point though I'd say that the only hope of getting J-Rock is through the RBN.

I agree and currently there isn't enough of it. Mainly because none of those working for charting groups know any Japanese. Nor would anybody overseas be interested in such a small source of revenue. It would be worth a try to make a suggestion though even though my pessimism says otherwise.

A lot of authoring groups have pursued Japanese artists, actually.

I know that a few of them can speak Japanese and (iirc) RockGamer has a Japanese song in playtesting.

I don't know if there is a playthrough video because RockGamer usually waits for the song to come out before advertising it but the song is Say Sayonara by Joanovarc. They are releasing a Japanese version and an English version.

That is pretty cool! :O But what I wanna see is full on Japanese songs. No translations. It would be neat if below the syllables there were English translations. As a way of communicating what you're singing to the out of the loop Vocals player.

Would love to play some Puffy AmiYumi tracks, so yes I'm quite disappointed.
