Actually in the US, Madness never saw any commercial success outside of "Our House". As a child of a '80s, I don't recognize any of the songs you linked.

    Oh wow, really?

I was but a wee tyke in the 80's myself. And I clearly recall some of them even the Colgate commercial. I could understand not remembering 'This must be love' and 'Night boat to Cairo' but you don't even recognize One Step Beyond? Do you even remember the Colgate commercial?

I have a very good memory for music. I've never heard any of those songs, ever.

That seems insane! So much that I had to look at the infinate wiki to see.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madness_discography

Just... wow! You guys missed out on some really good songs. Did "House of Fun" even get released there?

I especially remember it in The Young Ones...
The song was featured in The Young Ones episode Boring with the band performing in the Kebab & Calculator pub. For the performance, drummer Daniel Woodgate and bassist Mark Bedford switched roles. On entering the pub, Rik Mayall's character, Rick, asks Suggs if the band knows Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard, to which Suggs replies "You hum it, I'll smash your face in." This segment was filmed on August 19, 1982, and was broadcast on November 23 of the same year.[2]

Their singer has a really good vocal range. Hunting High and Low, The Sun always Shines (on TV) plus Take on me, were easily mainstream hits in Europe. They also released some really good songs that never got media attention, but I guess this never made it over the pond.
I think cause here in the USA they were given that boy band image even though they have written some amazing songs..In Europe though they are pretty popular..I think their album released in 2009 went platinum in Germany and probably Norway. Fun fact their singer has (or had) the record in Europe for longest held note in a song at like 20 something seconds.

John Parr's "St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)" is confirmed to be released for RBN, so marked that as yellow until it is released.

I don't recognize about half that list by name and artist, but I've probably heard many of these songs. Probably wouldn't buy much, if anything at all, since I despise most 80's music and often one hit wonders aren't the best songs of a decade...

Man, you're right. If I Want Candy was released that would be one hell of a drum chart.
