    Status symble

This question has probably been asked before no doubt, so bare with me. In RB2, when playing live I noticed that some players had a little emblem under their name, denoting the instrument they were playing, that seemed to suggest the had reached a certian skill level. Does anyone know what I talking about? If so, what is it? How do I get or reach it? is it included in RB3?
    Thanks for any response.

You are probably thinking of the negative, silver, or gold instrument icons. You got them by completing the Ultimate Setlist on that instrument on medium, hard, or expert respectively. HMX took those out of RB3 however.

Those icons were also available in RB1, but because the tour mode (and hence the Endless Setlist) could not be completed online, those icons were very rare - basically limited to people who could voxtar or had more than one competent player in the same home.

Apparently, with the way they lock character customization items, it seems that the locked items are supposed to be the new status symbols.

Foolish move. As much attention as I pay to the background, most other players would probably find a little platinum drum icon or gold keyboard icon on the crowd meter a better indicator of skill than plain underwear or the Kanye West shades (expert drum and hard keys lessons respectively).

It was actually platinum for expert and gold for hard. The "negative" one you got for medium was supposed to be silver, I think. They made it a regular icon with black and white swapped to differentiate it from the platinum one. I think bronze, silver, and gold would've made a lot more sense, but that's a separate kettle of fish.

"Negative" is supposed to be Vinyl.
