No, and they never said they were going to say anything about it. That's just something samjjones invented out of whole cloth in last week's prediction thread.

God how people have run with it, though.

That's what it started with (oddly, last week's prediction thread is still open, allowing me to quote the post directly). Never once did a HMX person say anything remotely like this.

Thanks for tuning in. I know 6pm on Monday night isn't ideal for everyone, so short of permanently hosting these vids (which we can't do) rebroadcasting will hopefully reach more folks.

Spread the word on this show and if it seems like a valuable thing for people at other times we'll try to do it more often. Holler with comments on timing, lack of chat, out of date info, etc. All feedback is welcome!

Ehh. I did not enjoy this week's. Okay, serious, straight-up, face value question: Was the 'Herzog' video supposed to be funny? I'm genuinely not sure if it was even supposed to be funny (it wasn't, really, except for a cheap giggle at the helium voice). And really the whole thing had sort of a passive-aggressive feel to it. What was the whole "stupid babies who cry about everything" about? And with every person who came on, it felt like the reason they were coming on was to tell us all "Hey, *******s, human beings work at this company, so when you ***** about stupid ****, you're hurting their feelings."

I think you are completely wrong about this. It was the 5th birthday of Rock Band and all those people have a connection to Rock Band and all had interesting stories. The same, or similar, reason for making the Rock Band story thread for all of us to post in.

It was a parody of a certain film maker (I forget who it is now, since I'm not good with foreign names), and if you would have seen this guy's films, maybe you'd get it more.

I just laughed at how awkward it was.

And it was just a lot of inside jokes, too. Merely mentioning pickles caused them all to cackle in laughter, but it really did nothing for me. Same for the crotch shots, and the superimposing people's faces on the wedding photo.

The chat does take a lot of effort to police and we were running on a skeleton crew this week with half of the team out of the office. If we do more re broadcasts they likely won't have chats either. On the bright side, that makes the Monday shows that much more special!

I... can't think of a single story that matches that description. We vetted everyone's stories before hand, and after hearing them on the show I watched it again today to make notes for future episodes. The intent was to have people share positive RB stories, whether it was the journey from forum poster to dev, or meeting bands we loved, or traveling to all corners of the world, or playing charity concerts.

I mean, yeah, we do a lot of public facing stuff to remind people that real human beings work here, and that's a big part of why community teams exist... but I honestly can't think of any instance of aggressive fan chastising in the stream.

Yep, awkward was the point! Sometimes we do stuff just to make us laugh and sometimes that makes some of you laugh with us. If we just cranked out dull as dishwater marketing material like most other game devs do we'd all go mental.

Did you watch the whole show? We explained the pickle story at two different points. And while I know a lot of the podcast or livestreams can be inside jokey, it's almost always stories we've covered on previous recordings or blog articles or the forums. I really don't know where the disconnect was. It did happen to be our most viewed show of all time, so I think it did resonate with a big chunk of the community. Maybe the stream just isn't for you, and that's fine.

But I mean, come on, when is an over sized pickle not funny?
