I freaking hate that. If they're going to change it in MP, they should change it in SP as well. The SP should flow naturally into the MP to make it more engaging, it shouldn't feel like there's a brick wall between the two (like everyone acts like there is).

or, not change it at all. the weapons balance was good at the start. same for MW2
then a lot of 12 year olds go complain at the Activison forums that they keep getting their asses kicked by good players. so they mess up the balance!

No, I believe that sometimes patches are necessary for weapon balancing. Playtesters can't possibly think of everything. I just believe that only seriously overpowered weapons and seriously underpowered weapons should be fixed. Keep the low input, high output weapons in (noobtoobs), but make sure that they have a distinct skill ceiling to encourage them to abandon ship when they get a lot better.
