okay, so there actually is such a game? Then I'm not sure I get it. Somebody you wouldn't expect to have a facebook page, but does? The Doors, perhaps?
The way they say "would be like" implies the FB page doesn't exist yet.

Some guy offered Tool as an answer, but we know how Maynard James Keenan is.

From the hint I predict something related to 99 Problems as that's in the first post you see on his twitter page.

    Jay-Z Pack 01
    99 Problems
    Jigga What, Jigga Who
    Encore

    Or

    Linkin Park Pack 02
    Bleed It Out (X)
    Faint (X)
    Lying From You
    Papercut
    Wretches and Kings
    Burn it Down
    Wishlist (possible artists):
    [4] The Killers
    [1] The Cure
    [7] AFI
    [3] Sum 41
    [11] Linkin Park
    [51] Green Day
    [9] The Offspring

Since walden always criticized the consumist style of life, and video games are somehow all the opposite, I guess that next week artist don't want to be popular or mainstream, but they, somehow, are.

The first names that come to mind are Radiohead, Pearl Jam (both never wanted to be mainstream but are really popular) and Rise Against (vegans, and against society).

Rage Against The Machine are another good candidate.

Or a pack from Collision Course?

And shame on you for suggesting Linkin Park 02 and leaving out Breaking the Habit. It's 1000 times the quality of any song on that list, most notably "Lying From You" (what a forgettable song).

Could also be a group that's relatively anti-technology, since Walden also encouraged a more naturalistic approach to living. But I can't really think of any such groups off the top of my head.

Could be Tom Waits, he's known to really really hate advertising.

I know nothing of this Walden Thoreau guy, which puts me at somewhat of a disadvantage. According to Wikipedia he lived on land owned by another guy I don't know about, Ralph Emerson. I think there is a band with an Emerson in it, but I don't really know it. Maybe them.

Other than that, the guy seems like a bit of a technophobe. Maybe we are getting someone who prefers accoustic over electronic instruments?

Please tell me the reason you haven't taken tenth grade English is because you're not that age yet.

Sorry, I got bored and thought I'd try humour. Maybe I'm no good at it.

I honestly know nothing about Walden, Henry David Thoreau or Ralph Waldo Emerson, though. I believe this is because the Australian education system in the 1980s focused on other things. Different cultures, different priorities and interests.

Wow, I would have thought that even in foreign countries those two writers would make for some pretty basic curriculum in the mid-high school years. They are both American, yes, but it's not like their writings pertain only to America.

    Hunh.

Well I guess you showed me
