HMX working on a new IP for Next Gen according to job listing

    http://www.xbox360achievements.org/n...aming-IP-.html

"Rock Band developer Harmonix is the next studio on a growing list apparently working on a title for the next generation of consoles, according to a job listing from the music game specialists.

The job listing notes that the successful candidate will "work closely with our world-class artists to bring their work to life on brand new IP and next-generation consoles."

There's other job listings on the Harmonix website dug up by Twitter-based internet sleuth Superannuation that could possibly pertain to a music game that's also a "unique motion-gaming IP" that could even possibly include combat encounters alongside player exploration. Sounds like an intriguing mix..."

Yeah, don't read too much into it yet, Mr. Last Paragraph, you.

Yeah that's what I took out of it, too.

And with the Wii U coming really soon and the PS4/Orbis and the Nextbox/whateveritgetscalled not too far off either, it doesn't make much sense for HMX to develop their next retail title for this generation. I'll be a little surprised if there aren't least PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of it, though.

and after looking at 1 of the job descriptions, 2 things popped out for me:

1: Use proprietary worldbuilding tools to place combat encounters, environmental interactions, AI behaviors and other scripted elements.

    2. Experience with and passion for open-world or landscape-based games.
