Basically, the announcements each week will have become an "all-or-nothing" event now. You'll either be happy with what is announced and will be greatly anticipating the following Tuesday, or you'll not like the one artist/band and have to wait another week in the hopes that you'll get something you want.

In releasing multiple artists/bands in one week, even if it is just one song from each artist/band, there is a much greater chance that you'll see something you really do want. (See the Two Tickets to Paradise/Drops of Jupiter/other-song-I-can't-remember-right-now week).

So the bumming that's going on with this Blitz announcement is likely due to the fact that if Iron Maiden isn't your cup of tea, the complete lack of variety in the announcements this week has amplified the down feelings. Had the artist that was announced for Blitz been something other than Maiden, there would at least have been a statistically greater chance that it might be something you liked.

So in my mind, I think that announcing a completely different band would have created a greater chance of people getting excited.

Personally, I've just learned to not get excited anymore for DLC announcements. This way if there is a release that I'm hoping for, I won't be disappointed when it's not announced. (Which, sadly, has started happening a lot lately. Prior to RB3's release and for quite a few months afterwards, the bevy of "Classic Rock" and 80's/hair metal bands had me looking forward to each Friday's announcement for quite a while. Currently, it seems like the songs coming out are reminiscent of the modern-era heavy releases when RB2 was the latest game).
Very well sadi! I agree 100%.

I would pay the $20 or whatever RBB is going to end up costing just for "Jessie's Girl".

^ I've bought entire rb games and track packs just to be able to play one or two favorite songs. I'm with you samjjones. I love Jessi's girl. Can't wait

I think the setlist looks good so far, it covers a wide range of variety so far... can't say Jessi's Girl and Metal Health sound similar.

Jessie's Girl, Metal Health, and Maiden is a pretty darn good gathering so far, can't wait to see what's in store next!
Friday, Dec 2nd, marks the greatest day of my RB life when they first announced the last 9-pack of Queen. HMX is my best friend

Only really excited for Metal Health and whatever the Maiden song will be, but I'm sure that'll change soon.

Okay, I think if we all work together, we can figure out what the Maiden song will be.

We know that this song isn't a part of the upcoming "epics" pack. So, we can deduce that this isn't going to be a long song, which means there's some songs that can be taken off the list.

Now, the hard part. Pope has said that this song is fun to play in Blitz. So, I challenge all of you to think what short Iron Maiden song would be fun to play with Blitz's control scheme. I especially ask this of those who have played Blitz at PAX East. Which Maiden song would you all say is fun to play with the Blitz controls?
May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?

Wrathchild makes sense to me. It's short, fast paced, and a really important thing for Blitz, ALL INSTRUMENTS PLAY TOGETHER for almost the entire song, making it fun for this kind of game.

As I've already said, it's already been on GH:80s so can defenetly come back to full band rythm games.
