This analysis of the flashbacks posits stuff about Katara, too, and posits a few theories (including some of the spoilertext entries previous). (Not outright spoilers, but theoretical ones upcoming.) I'm going with the "Tarrlok is Yakone's son" theory, as well as a small step into the "so is Amon" theory I've seen suggested.

Well there are some parts of that theory that seem likely, it is just a theory. Still someone must have done their homework to come up with such a detailed theory.

Where is Zuko? I mean Aang and the whole Council is there so why is Zuko not there? Maybe I missed something.

There are several possibilities. As Fire Lord, he may still have been busy tending to other matters of state--it's not like the current Fire Lord is on the Republic City Council, either.

Somebody on The AV Club decided that Republic City needs a Leslie Knope on the City Council. Thus, the following dialogue did spawn from my head:

"Councilwoman Knope, your proposal of installing CabbageCorp CrunchyBar vending machines on every corner, while delicious, is currently unfeasible. Moreover, we are concerned with your other latest proposal."
"But Wan Shi Tong is probably lonely in the desert all by himself! What's wrong with making all the other librarians join him?"

Something I'm wondering about the vision is

Where is Zuko? I mean Aang and the whole Council is there so why is Zuko not there? Maybe I missed something.

Same place the Kyoshi Warriors and Momo are? Anywhere else? 'Aang and the Council' isn't the same thing as 'everyone notable from Airbender'.

That being said, Zuko's voice actor has done something for a character 'related to Zuko' for Korra, so it's quite possible he's going to have a big reveal in the flashbacks like Katara, presumably.

This week's episode can be summed up in one word: whoa. I'm still kind of absorbing all the awesome this week packed in. I think this episode may need a second viewing!

Notable points of awesome:
-Lin's armor and zipping up Bolin (his face made me think she snagged him)
-Every flashback (and Aang complaining over Toph's nicknames)
- Yakone getting owned by Avatar State
- Amon demonstrates his badassery all over again with opposing Tarrlock's bending (his answer reminded me of V for Vendetta
