It is like a lot of kids' shows nowadays that offer something for adults as well as kids. These shows also stress the importance of being a generally good person and morality.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Those are good attributes to share, and benefit society as a whole.
But I don't think it's anything more than that. But if somebody gleans this by watching My Little Pony instead of reading classical Greek philosophy...who cares?
However...I think it's interesting that many of us spend a lot of time investing in things that don't mean a helluva lot in the scheme of things at the end of the day.
And yes, I realize the hypocrisy of posting this on a forum which caters to rabid fans of a certain music performance simulation video game.
How about we keep talking about brony music on Rock Band, and stop talking about how pointless watching a TV show is, and how it "Affects" out lives.

Could you maybe just accept the fact that the show has "clicked" with viewers of all ages, has provided inspiration and encouragement, and has made quite a few people think a little differently in how they treat and view others?
When a show succeeds at that, who cares whether it features talking magical ponies or alien-fighting superheroes? If it works, it works. Maybe it doesn't do for you what it has done for others, and that's okay too, but do you really have to question so dismissively something that has demonstrated such a positive influence? Is your manhood threatened that much?
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!
1) The new MLP isn't a little girls cartoon show (those suck, really, they rarely do well), it's a cartoon show that's aimed at girls but has appeal to others.
2) My 4.5 year old granddaughter loves the show, and of some of the shows she loves, it's easily one of the easiest for me to watch. It's not Phineas and Ferb, but really, there's not much else for kids that is.
3) If your definition of a man is defined in any part by what shows he enjoys, then perhaps you need to reexamine your definition of a man.
