There are many pro players who buy the songs and never register scores on leaderboards (be it lack of internet, playing songs in practice mode, people who buy upgrades but don't have dedicated controllers, etc...).
Do XBL Silver members (IE, non-subscribers) have leaderboard privileges? Or is that considered in some way to be 'online play' and only reserved for gold subscribers?

Yes, they have that. If it's not multiplayer, it's not Gold-exclusive.

There is that, I haven't posted a score for rotam myself (still learning to butcher the riffs), still I'm pleased with my 68% on flight of icarus after a quick and dirty trainer

But I still think it's a pretty good proxy of how many pro-upgrades are being acquired at least on a comparative basis.

P.s. On a completely different note has anyone got gpX files with rb3 tabs? The ones I find on the net are different (keep lead and rhythm separate, etc) and I'd like to have some paper practice material.
Could HMX not post them, I mean we've acquired the rights to the tabs in some distant lateral sense ... :P

Some people don't want to spend a dollar on a track they won't be able to play, other people buy upgrades for every song they can regardless of whether they intend to play it any time soon, so anecdotal evidence isn't a good indicator of sales either. All we can tell for sure by looking at the leaderboards is that only about 5-6% of people have any scores on pro guitar.

Haha. Wicker Man. That's a surprise. Double kick-sounding bass drum in the chorus. So I was kinda right in that they were probably referring to the Blitz song. Didn't even think of that one. So glad it's not Wratchild, this is so much more satisfying.

Still hope for a Somewhere in Time song in the future, but this is a great one. Nice HMX!

It's fantastic Maiden's been working with HMX now. One reason I love this band is that they don't have a stick up their butts in terms of using new ways of introducing new generations of fans to their music. They're pretty in-tune with using new ways to do this, unlike other artists. I really think they should have done a RB tie-in when Final Frontier came out and they toured that one. Let's just hope they don't only use RB to promote a new thing every few years, and maybe start doing this regularly in-between. That three-year gap was brutal.

Interesting choice with "The Wicker Man". It's certainly better than "Wrathchild" and we finally have a modern Maiden song, good stuff.

Anyway, I'm going to play "Infinite Dreams" and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" on keys today. "Moonchild" would be excellent for a keys-centered song among others, would love to see that along with a few other keys songs in the next pack.

Yeah, I think they did a fantastic job of covering all bases with the pack and this song. Something for Di'Anno fans, some classics, some stuff they probably had to do to tie into the tour, and a modern-era Maiden track. Really well done.

One modern-era and one Di'Ann-era song really makes more sense than two Di'Anno ones, especially for the lone single in a stand-alone game. Considering they're working with the current band/management, having one Di'Anno song is pretty generous.

I did NOT see "The Wicker Man" coming. That's a nice pick, though! It will be a lot of fun!
