Basically the itemized list for my house contents came back (minus the things that got carted off for a chance at a second life).

I have to spend the money on similar stuffs 12 months after moving back into my house once it's rebuilt (probably another 6 to 8 months from now).

Since I won't be rebuying the exact same things I used to have I'm going to get other things. For example I lost 300 vinyl LPs and a Technics turntable. Not going to repurchase any of that. So that money can be used for other home entertainment gizmos and media.

As for musical gear that got lost, there were some Roland, Korg and Yamaha keyboards that didn't make it. Tons of recording equipment (mics, racks, mixing consoles, speakers etc). Going to use the Kronos or the M3 to perform the role of a good chunk of that equipment.

I would go with the Kronos, then. M3 can do virtual analog with the EXB-Radias card (or by switching out the M3 module for the Radias-R which gives you a full set of knobs), but you will be missing complex FM sounds that the MOD-7 engine of the Kronos provides.
We've ended on a sour note:

    Still...thank you for the music

Figured I'd put this news into this thread and just call it "All the disasters that happen to me thread". Sandy hit us hard and the sea met the bay in my hometown. I got 5 feet of water in the basement of my old house which is still under repair due to the fire and now lost my boiler and tons of stuff that hadn't been lost in the fire. In the house I am currently renting we got three feet of water in the living room. I lost my car of course because sea water rose up to the bottom of my windshield and remained that way overnight.

We got power back a couple of days ago but still no heat or hot water.

I'll keep anyone interested in what happens next posted. Hurray for 2012, it can suck a whole carton of eggs.

Jesus f'n Christ, what a mess of a year for you. Who did you piss off upstairs? Best of luck in eventually getting everything back into some semblance of normalcy. I was actually wondering the other day what ever happened to you....

skyp1e...I was thinking about you the other day...imagining you were probably getting ready to settle into the new digs before long. This just breaks my heart for your entire family. I'm so sorry. Let us know if there is a way we can help.
