    Universally Loved?

    I was riding in the car earlier today, and a Bruce Springsteen song came on the radio. I proceeded to think to myself, "Have I ever met anyone that didn't like Bruce Springsteen?" I was dumbfounded.

    There are some things in pop culture that are universally loved. I can only think of a few, them being bands...
    CCR
    Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
    Bruce S.

    So, do you guys think there are some things out there that little to no people dislike?
    We need sludgey and droney and stonery metal:
    Dirge
    Sleep
    Bongripper
    Sunn O)))
    Electric Wizard
    Earth
    Neurosis
    Cult of Luna

    I don't really care for Springsteen much either. The whole blue collar rock thing doesn't really do it for me.

    Creedence Clearwater Revival is the big one. I'm not a huge fan myself but they're damn well-respected, even amongst non-fans.

    Others that come to mind:

    Talking Heads
    The Shawshank Redemption (again, not a huge fan myself, but this movie is #1 on the IMDB, as it's been since the website was created)
    Schindler's List
    Pizza and/or Italian food in general
    Puppies/Kittens
    Citizen Kane
    Casablanca
    The X-Files (until the last few seasons, ahem)
    Twin Peaks
    Afraid nobody 'round here

    Pretty comprehensive. I think we forgot the Beatles somewhere though. However, I have met somebody who did not like them BUT respected them due to their effect on music as a whole.
