why do we not get "new" music anymore?

I dont know if anyone has noticed but we have barely gotten any new music released the week an album comes out. The only dlc weve had were:
    foo fighters- 2 wasting light
    Rise Against- 1 endgame
    RHCP- 3 Im with you
    coldplay- 1 mylo .....
    and so on
The thing is, there has been soo many great artists that released albums over the last 2 years (some this year are Rush, the cranberries, the used, neon trees, madonna, metric, and the hives) however, none of these or earlier tracks have been released. In the past weve had such releases as new ozzy, disturbed, foo fighters, pearl jam, and even neon trees. Is there a reason for waiting to release new music late or even not at all?

    For serious?

Did you never see the Fueled By Ramen pack? Or next week's DLC? Or Dog Days are Over?

He means brand new songs from brand new albums like when we got those Gaga songs the day the album came out.

I don't think we saw any more of that back when RB was popular in 09 then we do now.

"Dog Days are Over" isn't exactly a new song. Neither are the tracks next week.

I have to agree with the OP. So many missed (sweet) opportunities.

Along with the four bands you mentioned, there have only been about four more releases that have ever come out with the album. Over a period of four years of DLC. It's hardly a trend.

fueled by ramen is ok i guess, the newest song in next weeks pack was 2010, and considering smashing pumpkins, lit, or lost prophets is out next week is kinda a bummer, dog days was back in feb of 11', I belive the same week the nine inch nails pack was released
