Wow, I actually forgot I made this thread.
I think it's been mentioned, but it is hilarious. I especially like how the birds look like the kind of stuff a five year old makes to train in animation.
Well, I did start a review series, though I'm nowhere near "professional."

For some reason this flick has become the red headed step child. I think it really grows on you. While there may be some plot elements that are lacking, from a artistic standpoint the film is very deep. Almost every shot has alternate meanings. Sure, it's not as straight forward or as tense as Alien but it's still a great film.

I find that discussions about Prometheus are more interesting than the film itself. There was a great podcast I listened to that pretty much touched on every good and bad thing about the movie and I would recommend that before I'd recommend the actual flick. But I've only seen it once, so maybe it does get better through multiple viewings. And I'm certainly going to check out the longer version when it hits blu-ray next month and hopefully it'll help fill in the narrative a bit.
I like film too, which is typically why I don't watch Kate Hudson or Katherine Heigl movies, or worse yet, patronize said movies by actually paying money to see them. I get no pleasure outta willfully watching a flick I know is garbage. And if I want to experience a bad movie while people make fun of it, I'll watch MST3K.
The tricky thing about that is I often have questionable tastes when it comes to movies, so stuff like Event Horizon, Sucker Punch, Piranha and The Dark Knight Rises (Did I just...? Oh yes I did) I genuinely, unironically enjoy even though I recognize the movie's faults. If I thought I would truly hate a flick, there's no way I'd wanna watch it. I don't subscribe to the whole "so bad it's good" thing. I get that some people do, but I certainly don't. If a movie's bad, and I think it's gonna suck, then I don't wanna watch it. And I certainly don't wanna invite all my friends over to share in the misery. I tell people The Poughkeepsie Tapes is bad and that they should avoid it at all costs, not that they really need to watch it just to see how bad it is.
But that's just me.
I understand your view. When I lived with my aunt, who's film collection could be divided in three segments (romantic comedy/kid's movie/obscure indie flick), most of the films in our house I thought were unbearable. I longed to be able to see a good movie again. But as I've seen much worse films in recent years, I like to see things that are bad. It intrigues me when someone puts their heart and soul into something, only for the final product to be "off" in some way. It's not only like this with movies for me, either. I like looking up footage for bad video games, and finding funny-bad music, like Rebecca Black. (Now I'm waiting for Ryan to come and say she's genuinely good)
Those are just my views on the whole thing. But you don't have to listen to the guy who had to watch Nukie five times to write a script for a joke review.

Have I mentioned Ninja: The Final Duel yet?
Watch out for the Ninja Water Spiders!
Backstory: I "won" this movie at a novelty gift white elephant gift exchange. Luckily I was the last one to choose it after it had been passed 3 times, much to the chagrin of a few of my friends who also wanted it. Best white elephant gift evah.
