Men can have the biological imperative to reproduce just like women can. You should talk to your wife and see what she thinks. 26 is still very young unless you want to have a very large family.

I do wish I could have kids. I hope I'll be able to adopt someday But not for at least five years (I am also 26, by the way).

And you're not too young to chase your dreams, but you should figure out what's more important to you - chasing those dreams, or settling down and having a family. Those two are somewhat mutually exclusive.

Yeah, I wouldn't really worry about this. Of course, I can't give you a response to this that isn't horribly biased; I have a long list of horrible, dehumanizing things I'd rather have done to me than have children For the record, that was not a joke.

And this may sound nauseatingly idealistic, but it's really never too late. I remember last summer I was in a restaurant that had a rock band made up of men who were all over 80 years old... the twist was that they all sounded quite good. If you like game design, why not learn a bit about coding, possibly make some flash games? I've never done it myself, though I know a guy who's quite good at it, swears to me it's not as hard as it looks (not sure I buy it though).

Absolutely. Hogan/Charlie, are there any affordable community colleges in your area that offer computer science courses (granted, this assumes you didn't major in comp sci for your recent degree)? How about your local library?

As a little personal anecdote, I have dreams of going to med school and becoming either a neuroscientist or speech pathologist some day. However, I don't think I'll be able to go back to school for a masters degree for at least another ten or fifteen years due to loans and me being a spring chicken of 23 years old. In the meantime, I'm attempting to teach myself as much I can about either subject before I resume classes in the next decade or so; it's a beyond fulfilling feeling to read through a textbook you're not required to read and take notes not for a class, but for yourself.

The best thing you can do is literally go the library and take out as many books as you can on the subjects you're interested in.

If it helps any, I was adopted, at age 8. I think it's a very nice thing to do and that it helps a child in need. Or, at least it made my life better.

As for my problem, I'm still debating if I want to make it public, and I don't want to make an anonymous account. I think I'll PM jibs. Otherwise, I'm here to help others if I can. I'm told I have good insight for some reason.

That's quite nice I know it's something I want, but it's gonna be a big hill to climb. My own life is kind of a mess right now, so it's gonna be a while before I can even consider it. And once I can consider it, well... it'll still be quite a hill to climb considering the politics of it all. Fun times

It's harder for gay couples, but it will only get easier as time goes on.

    Which is really sad actually.

that, and if I'm not adopting as a lesbian couple, I'd be adopting as a single woman. I'm quite sure both would be steep, steep hills to climb.

Not sure I believe that, honestly.
