I figured it was a copyright issue.
GSN was first brought up from me. No big deal you missed it. Just found it ironic at the time that he had mistook a reference from a show and then Family Fued has a special on the show characters. I've never seen the show so I had no idea where the reference was from. To be honest, the one guy does look like someone who appeared on Lost before.

You're confusing matters worse.
"Cast Away" - the original reference here about a volleyball and a desert island - was a movie. A major Hollywood motion picture. In 2000. Starring Tom Hanks.
The Family Feud episode "Castaways Special" was an episode where they had players who were contestants on the reality-competition show "Survivor" (but avoided using that word for legal reasons).

Could very well be, since he missed it. But either way, a quick search only costs a few seconds. It's always faster than asking on a forum. If I didn't care, I'd either not bother at all, or go with whichever way keeps me occupied the least time.
Efficiency is always in my head, no matter what I do. I believe that's not uncommon for those with Asperger's syndrome.

Yupp! The dude was telling me to tune into GSN when I was busy, I came back and missed it, and told him it wouldn't have mattered anyway since I didn't know what it is. By the time I posted it I was already Googling the word, and when I found out I really couldn't care less. If announcing that I never heard of something while looking it up is foreign to you, then I should explain. I do this all of the time as it allows me to not only find out what it actually is (most likely by Wikipedia), but it also allows me to capture the human element of the people that have experienced it. My favorite example of this is when I asked what an NDA was and the responses told me much more than a Wikipedia article would.
So yes, I do look things up at the same time as I ask what they are. Weird, isn't it?
I mostly read the New York Times (and occasionally the Wall Street Journal) and names don't stick to me if I deem them of no importance. I remember you mentioning Colin Powell before and had no idea who he was until I just looked it up. Yeah, I never heard of this bloke in my life.

My tumblr page, yo: http://heyitsmario.tumblr.com/
it makes sense. he reads the NY Times, but he only reads the Style section. until Colin Powell comes out with his new fashion line, he'll never hear of him.
