I'd say rooster is a great chord song, as well as Every rose has its thorn, Jane says, I Alone and To be with you.
At least these are the first ones that come to mind.

Here's a couple of good DLC tracks for chords. As mentioned above, Rocksmith would be a great choice however if you don't live in America you will have to wait about 3/4 months at least for it to be released.
How You Remind Me - Nickelback
Second Chance - Shinedown
This Love - Maroon 5 (Also in Rocksmith)
Jerk It Out - Caesars
Machinehead - Bush
Wishlist (possible artists):
[4] The Killers
[1] The Cure
[7] AFI
[3] Sum 41
[11] Linkin Park
[51] Green Day
[9] The Offspring
In short:
barre - holding down multiple strings at the same fret with your index finger
open string - pluck the string, but do not touch it with fretting hand
alternate tuning - standard guitar tuning has strings tuned (high to low) to E, B, G, D, A, E; but there are other variations occasionally used
power chord - usually a chord with just the root and fifth (do you know "do re mi fa sol la ti do"? Root and fifth are do and sol respectively)
Californication by RHCP is also another very good chord song.

You keep surprising us, Cipher. Have you never touched the Pro tutorials in Rock Band 3? You have to know at least some of these terms, and what they mean.
Multi-tasking... Messing up many things at once!

It is possible to go through the exercises in the tutorials and never read what they say in the lessons. I've been guilty of playing through without giving much thought to the lingo, chord names, riffs etc. There should probably be some kind of pop quiz to test not only skills, but general music/gtr knowledge after a certain number of lessons. Of coarse, I'd probably fail :P
Hell, I didn't know what a tom was until I was well into playing Expert Pro Drums.
