Metallica: An Open Discussion

Alright. Can we (Developers and Gamers) have an open discussion on why Metallica has not been given a second pack or even a single? Maybe a track is upcoming in Blitz and all this forum post is for naught. Please, I don't want additional posts of how stupid I am or how ridiculous it is to bring this up. If it's already been addressed by the fine folks at Harmoinix on the forum then please close this thread and direct my attention there.

I mean I can't be the only person who would love to see more Metallica? Right? The Rock Band Dashboard says otherwise, so why has it been since Nov. 20, 2007 that we've received Metallica as downloadable content? Is it licensing issues, exclusive rights, or sour grapes?

Please shine some light on this? Or we can burn this post to the ground... "We don't need no water, let the *#$%(#!&*$^# burn."

Thing is, discussing bands we want should always go to the Ultimate Setlist forum. I know HMX won't respond personally there, but all they'll do to this thread is move it there anyways. Sorry if I sound like a sore sport, but I'm just being realistic.

I know that "I want Metallica!" is the theme here, but it's an underlying tone. Not only that, but we're pretty sure that they have an exclusivity contract to GH until five years after GH: Metallica. Wait about a year...

Because Metallica are money whores and it costs way too much to license their music. Am I missing anything?

I agree with that. I don't care for the way that GH games have the rounded notes (among other things), I prefer my music on the Rock Band platform. I'd rather give Harmonix my hard earned cash.

Well if it's exclusivity with GH and that is it, I can wait another year, hell, I've already waiting this long. I just don't want to be waiting for Godot.
