Man, tell me about it. I've been starting to lose interest in DLC these past few weeks. The last week that really excited me was the Men at Work/Santana week. And that was in MARCH. Most of the other weeks since then have been meh stuff.

but a song that only uses 3 chords on a guitar and has cheesy lyrics but sounds a little bit nice has more chance of selling than music by people who actually know how to play a guitar, is what i'm trying to say.

"Louie, Louie" only has three chords. It's the most indestructible rock song of all time. Number of chords used does not necessarily equate to talent or lack thereof.

Now if we could get that tune and The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" (with a bonus fourth chord) - or actually any VU - we'd be plundering my wallet for DLC once again.

Well this pack comes as 'No Surprise'. Heh. 7th week of no official DLC.

I will definitely be picking up the Jerry Naylor track and possible Kaipa as well.

He already read insults in my post that weren't even there. So, uh yeah he sorta was wrong.

Too true, a clever musician can build a song just out of chords and it can be objectively well defined and creative.

I will give this a listen but my niche taste senses are tingling like a motherf**ker.
Also, the mention of 'the chad' as a writer on one of these makes my skin crawl as if someone has stepped on my grave.

Remember that time when Daughtry got a pack and QotSA got a single?

Hey kids! This is the right way to hide poorly written pop music of Natalie Imbruglia level with fake hard rock! That's right!

The songs sound plan boring. Probably this pack will outsell everything else that came out this year, just cause they were on American Idol and they're poppy and modern enough to please young players.

That said, the songs aren't exactly bad, musically speaking, Crawling Back To You is some kind of "I've already heard songs like this 100 times before" track, with some cool tonality changes.. It's not over is defining this band's sound, melodic ballads with a sort of hard rock guitar behind. Ok I guess.

No Surprise is just bad, boring and predictable, univentive at least.

Just plain passing over this pack, but I think that it's not the worst piece we'll get/we got this year.

    Whew, glad that's over with!

I had never actually heard a Daughtry song before (at least knowing it was a Daughtry song). When I listed to the clips, I felt I had heard all these songs ten thousand times before. There is a word for that: derivative. It's not a good word.

For my money, American Idol has essentially ruined pop music.

    Yaawwwn.

He's too generic to love or hate, much like Nickelback. Still waiting for my promised B-52s. I guess they're saving the best for last on the teased summer bands.
