I graduated in 2009 and I honestly don't remember the song if we even had one I don't know.
I hardly remember anything from prom night except for the weekend that ensued after.
As my mom told me I would, I regret the decisions I made that night now. It most certainly probably was a song I didn't care for if there was one knowing the people I graduated with.

2000 and 2001 for me (Ontario Academic Credit, essentially Grade 13, had to have it if you wanted to get into an Ontario University).
Both times was "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day
Could you get any more cliche than that?!
That's Anette Olzon, not Amy Lee in my avatar
20+ years ago my hometown was a nice city to live in, and hence our prom was pretty much drama free. No stupid fights or anything like that, just everyone having a good time. I only attended one after-party, which was pretty low key. It's funny to look back now and see how simple things were and how good we all had it back then!
"Punk rock should mean freedom, playing whatever you want,
As sloppy as you want as long as it's good and it has passion" Kurt Cobain

I graduated in 07, but Photograph was the song everybody requested at Homecoming. My friends and I got a rally together when it came to voting for class song to write in Safety Dance. Apparently the split between Nickelback and Kid Rock allowed us to win. They didn't bother holding a Prom vote out of fear we would suggest a "worse" song, and allowed us to keep Safety Dance.
I always say Men at Work, but you know what I meant lol
I didn't go to my prom but I think it was Don't Stop Believing.
