I don't click random youtube links (I can proudly say I've never been Rick-Roll'd), but if that shows something similar to what I described, it is a weird coincidence (unless I read about it on IGN or something at some point, and forgot).

It's a game called Rock of the dead and came out on fall 2010.

It's not exactly what you meant, but it's the closest thing to that.

Such people do exist. The peripherals aren't the only thing that makes music games fun, as evidenced by the existence of several music games without peripherals that are fun as well as the existence of several music games with peripherals that are... less than fun.

I totally get that the performance based aspect is what appeals to you most. That's completely fair, a lot of people feel the same way. But there are also a lot of people who have written to us over the years asking for a controller based version of RB, or a return of our pre RB style of beat match music games. Beyond that, there are also a lot of people who can't find RB hardware, or have broken instruments or otherwise have a lot of DLC that they're not using.

Combine all those different sub groups (along with people who never got into RB and people who love arcadey XBLA / PSN titles) and I think that there's definitely an interest in music games beyond the peripheral based gameplay. This isn't meant to be a replacement for that style of gameplay (you can still play RB, and these Blitz songs in RB) but a complement for people who don't always have the energy, means, time, hardware, space, etc. to jump on the couch and bust out windmills.

Sure, as long as they also own a PS3 or a 360.

No, not exactly Wii owners. RB Blitz will only be available via XBLA and PSN, but we're looking into alternative options for Wii users and may have more information later this summer.
