I haven't seen a trend this bad since in HOR around 2008 we had everyone's "greatest drummers/guitarists/etc" schtick going about. Anyway, here's some power pop cuts you may be unaware of:

First one: I like how it starts of with the synth intro and just jumps right into the rocking part! But this is really good, especially the singer and the harmonies. The band name is kinda funny too. :P

Second one: I've heard of him, because him and The Posies did a concert tour in 2010, (Where they made a stop here, when I just started listening to their music. Tragic, I know!) but I've never had the chance to check out his stuff. I dig they psychadelic feeling he has for his music video. And the song reminds me a bit of A Certain Trigger-era Maximo Park. Long story short, I'm starting to appericate Power Pop outside of the Posies.

Yeah, Sextus really reminds me of Matthew Sweet, who wrote "Girlfriend" which is one of the most memorable guitar hero tracks to this date for me. On that point I'm glad you are digging both, Brendan Benson is sort of local to my state and the first time I heard him was in The Raconteurs with Jack White, I picked up his older material and I've been supporting him since.

I'm going to link you another power pop favorite or two of mine to see your gauge on it:
