I have Megadeth, Maiden, Motorhead etc. I'm not into the kind of metal (death metal?) with growling inaudible vocals, but we'll see.

Actually any music style can have growling, I've seen death metal with clean voice, and punk with growling. Tho it is more common in Death/Black/Doom/-core metal.
I like any genre of metal, I hate growling, BUT I learned to ignore crappy vocals over the years, and to enjoy the music behind it. Now I'm at a point where I don't even listen to vocals at all in a song. It makes me hating even more music than before.
