What band did you go see for your first concert?

Live during their Throwing Copper tour, ie: back when their music was still pretty good.

First prog gig was Marillion the year after during their Afraid of Sunlight tour.

When I lived in Lancaster PA, I was driving down the street and saw those guys in front of a house talking, i almost wrecked my car! The Goo Goo Dolls also played a club down the street from my house before they became mainstream, I stopped and asked the people in line who was playing, "Goo Goo Dolls" they said, I thought doesn't sound like a band I'd like so I didn't go, of course I regret that now!

Same concert... Bob Seger and my first intro to the great band, who I still love, J Geils Band.

It's great to hear about everyone's first concert. Good stuff right there! I thought I'd throw out another concert related question to keep this thread going. Do you know out of all the bands you've seen, who have you seen the most?

Mine would be a tie between Iron Maiden and Metallica as I've seen them twice.

Also I was curious (and if your original answer was your most recent concert than no reason to answer again) what was the most recent concert you've been too?

Mine would have been U2 360 Tour on June 4, 2011 at Qwest Field in Seattle. Great show. Lenny Kravitz opening up for em'. The place was packed, and even better, the tickets were free!

I saw Motley Crue twice, I think the last show I went to was Leann Rhimes at a festival, Survivor is playing the festival August 4th, I really want to go but don't know if I'll be able to!

I think the band I've seen live the most is Marillion, I think I've seen them live about 7 times now, including one of their infamous Marillion weekends (will have to attend the next one as well, since I live only half an hour away from the resort where they hold the European one these days).

Gazpacho takes second place with 4 gigs, and then there's a bunch of bands that I've seen 3 times.

Most recent concert was Pain of Salvation/Opeth a few months ago.

Isn't that the band the keyboardist recently lost his hearing scuba diving?

My first concert was Rush on their Time Machine Tour on July 21, 2010. My most recent concert was Iron Maiden on their Maiden England U.S. tour on June 29, 2012. Both shows were just absolutely fantastic. I have to see them both again.

Wish I would have been more into Rush when I last was offered tickets to see them. But, my first ever concert was Iron Maiden (in 1983), and I can imagine they are ever bit as awesome today as they were back then.

Genesis in 2007 (I haven't missed a Genesis or Phil solo tour since the 1980s)
Toad the Wet Sprocket in 2008 (will be seeing TTWS again soon here in NJ)

Genesis would have been great if you went during the Gabriel times, but in sure Phil was just as good. I was sooooooooooo upset I didn't get tickets to the 07 tour, and now look what's happened. Lucky you gotto go see them.

The '07 show was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I feel very luck to have seen Chester and Phil drum together for the final time on tour...was amazing!
