Completing Rocksmith

RB wins this month in my opinion, it was close as RS got "Alive" and The Strokes (haven't gotten round to purchasing yet as I was on the assumption that I'd be spending about 600MSP per fortnight for RB but the Aerosmith pack already destroyed that assumption) but we got some really awesome pro upgrades including the main cause of RB winning, "Spoonman". It will be interesting to see how February and March is for both games. Note that February is the last month of weekly DLC from Rocksmith.

We've already got 2 out 3 Santana songs on RB (although lacking Gypsy Queen).

Yup, we already have 1½ out 3 Santana songs but I strongly prefer RS on these 1½ songs since it notates the bends.

How does Rock Band not have "Born to be Wild" yet? Well it's better that way for the keys. And while they're at it with Steppenwolf, Magic Carpet Ride would be a blast for that 2 minute organ solo.

There's a lot of no brainer songs we're lacking for reasons beyond my understanding of the business. Steppenwolf is pretty high on that list.

That'd be my guess as Guitar Hero doesn't have them either, however one can only hope that every great 60s-70s song we're missing has unworkable masters.

I have to think that bands like Steppen Wolf and Bachman Turner Overdrive(especially with all the references to them specifically in the games) are only missing because of masters. I think that more than anything is the reason we lack so much classic rock.

Hmx has stated several times that masters can be extremely difficult to track down(if not impossible as they told us with Danger Zone ), and even when found are not guaranteed to be in usable shape. The further back you go, the more this becomes a problem.

And the reason Rocksmith can get these songs(which leads me to think that hmx could get most of them also if they had usable masters) is because they don't use masters.

That has always been a double edged sword for hmx. You get great quality audio and can isolate the tracks, but only if you have the masters.
