Unhappy Wishing for a Remix Mode

I totally know it's not gonna happen because of all the extensive work that would go into that particular part of the game, but I'm still hanging on to a fraction of an inch of hope that the game would have something similar, like Frequency and Amplitude have. Not very likely though. Maybe for a RB Blitz sequel, Harmonix?

I am not familiar with what a "remix mode" is, could you elaborate?

In Frequency and Amplitude (previous games by Harmonix on the PS2), there is a "remix" mode where you could use the samples from the song to generate your own tracks/songs.

For example, here is the song "Super Sprode" (which also happens to be in Rock Band) being played normally:

Here is a remix that someone made of the song, being played in the editor mode so you can hear the full track:

I was trying to find a tutorial video on the remixing in Amplitude but couldn't find one quickly.

...nice. I wouldn't mind having something like that myself.

Would it be cool? Yes. However, chances are it would be a licensing nightmare. Not likely to happen.

Well, they had no problems licensing the songs from Frequency or Amplitude, but it's a matter of splicing up the instrument parts into tiny, fraction-of-a-second sound bits...and doing it with every song they have available in Rock Band. >_O

When they licensed songs for Freqeuncy/Amplitude I'm sure the remix mode was included in the contract. They wouldn't have included it in any of the licensing for the RB platform (I HIGHLY doubt every band we've ever gotten would OK it), so really it's just not feasible at all and there's no way it would be worth the cost of re-licensing so many songs.
