I used my pinky on songs when it comes to the HOPOs, personally, it not just how you place your pinky on the frets, but how fast and how hard, because I find it a pain in the ass when I'm on the right frets, but I haven't held them down hard enough, I used to have a RB controller which the smaller frets, which almost made the songs easier to play, but I now use a GH controller which isn't too bad, but it's not as responsive as RB controller IMO.

I got used to playing Expert on The Beatles: Rock Band, tried to challenge myself and got really good afterwards, the HOPOs were the main problem for me, but I managed to push through them.

Mine is useless...LOL.. I can hit some 3 note chords ( missing one in between) but it has to be one I know is coming. I do alot of power sliding and tho my hands a aren't big, they're pretty stretchy. I can do 1 and 5 with pointer and ring finger, but try to aoid it. I sometime use my pinky on that stretch of it's a series with a chord on the green side. Bugs the piss out of me knowing how decent I am and knowing I could be alot better if I could use the damned thing right.

I can. I learned to use the pinky when playing medium. Occasionally I'll use the other 3 fingers to play 3-5 keys, but usually it's my pinky playing the orange note and sometimes the blue note.

I've always assumed most players use middle+pinky to play 3-5 chords; I certainly do.

    That's what I was wondering.
It's spelled "Squier." Stop spelling it like someone who is in training to be a knight.

Apparently I have some issue with my left hand where I can't move my ring finger independently of my pinky and middle. I just noticed I can stick my right ring finger up like flipping the bird, but can't do that w my left. I can move it if my pinky OR middle is down, but not if both are. Does that make any sense? That's why I had to learn to move fast and play all split chords with pointer/ring, and I have difficulty with 1-3-4 chords.
I have a cocoon that's parked in a tree, that is full of guys that do nothing but play a video game that uses a little plastic baby guitar.

Yes, makes sense -- the muscles controlling the pinky and ring finger are often physically associated, and it may take lots of practice to disassociate them. I can't fully extend either ring finger without also extending my pinky; but I can move them independently enough to play guitar.
