Only two of the songs are from the 80's, the other is from 2001. In any case, I liked this week but *also* enjoyed much of the modern DLC of the past few weeks. I do not watch Disney Channel, thank you very much, nor am I a "kid".

I lied about my purchases - I didn't pick up Still of the Night. I find it tough to buy singles when i'm on the fence without that 3-Pack discount.

As stated earlier, I picked up all three songs this week. The funny thing is, I know that not everybody here (the forums) loves all three songs. Yet, I played them and had great memories of my younger days come back. Memories of times where there were no bills to pay, no consequences for your actions, and nothing but freedom. It's funny how when you are that young and going through life at that age, you can't wait to get older. Yet, once you get older you really wish that you could be young and "ignorant" again.
This is why so many of us want songs from the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's. It reminds us of the times when we were young and when we had so few worries in our lives. I was born in 1979, but I love those songs from the 1970's, and 1960's, because I remember hearing those songs when I was a small kid and on a trip to my grandparents' house. They are long gone, sadly, but when I hear songs from that era I remember the good times that life was bringing. "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" is such a great release this week as I remember hearing that all the time while in the car as a kid. I remember hearing that when I had friends over and we turned on the radio.
While I'm not happy with the "modern" songs that have been released for much of this year, I can't state much hate for them as those songs are attached to the younger crowd here who are, or have, built up memories of them like I have for the older songs.
This is why I am such a strong proponent for variety each week. It gives more people a chance to play a song that brings back such great memories of theirs. I'm now 33 years old, and while that seems "young" to some, I remember when my father turned 30 and when I had to get a passport for work I realized that my father was 21 when my sister was born and 25 when I was born. I could never raise children at that age, yet he was able to do a great job.
So for those who complain about the "modern" songs being released, try and realize that those songs have strong attachments for many of the "gamers" that are out there today. Yes, I would love some BTO, or Genesis, or any song from the 1970's-1980's to play to, but even when a week comes where nothing I would even bother to listen to, let alone play, comes out, I know that it is making someone just as happy as I would be if the songs I wanted were to be released.

It's spelled "Squier." Stop spelling it like someone who is in training to be a knight.
