i thought there was such as thing in rock band as a "Generic Rock" genre. that would be kinda offensive but at the same time very useful to describe some of the dlc. but "Rock" as a genre, i don't see what the issue is. some songs don't easily fit into one particular sub-genres and i don't see why they should be shoehorned in. Rock is perfectly fine and Rock /= Generic Rock.

Yeah, I think I'm somewhere between "love to hate me" and "so bad it's good".

You made me realize - my title was one of the worst capitalization failures ever.
We've ended on a sour note:

I think so. I could not care less about what HMX classifies it as. Neither could any of the dozen or so people I play RB3 and TB:RB with. In the end, is the game fun? Is the song fun? If the answer to both is yes, then the genre might as well not even be there. Because how it's labeled doesn't affect fun.

    Tied with MMB7.

FWIW, this whole p*****g contest between $100Headache and the rest of the posters, and FlyGuyXLI and the others...is pointless. FlyGuy thinks genres are very important. I don't. Neither do the majority who took the red pill and replied on this thread. I don't give a flying **** at a rolling donut what someone else classifies music as in the game.

    IT.

    DOES.

    NOT.

    MATTER.

It's spelled "Squier." Stop spelling it like someone who is in training to be a knight.

People who don't take genres seriously are uneducated, lack music knowledge, oblivious to the history and evolution of music and cannot stomach for a bit of in-depth referencing and counterpointing.

    Fact.
    _ Genesis
    _ Kamelot
    _ Pure Reason Revolution
    _ VNV Nation
    _ More Tribe

People who take genres too seriously are pretentious, oblivious to the subjectivity of it all, and cannot stomach for a bit of disagreement.
