Anybody looked into the band Stars? They're a Canadian indie band signed to Vagrant Records.

I would like to request Japanese Noise Metal group Zeni Geva, a band that I think could best be described as The Dillinger Escape Plan meets Cannibal Corpse meet Fantomas meets Sepultura, with some King Crimson and Slayer influences here and there. Would be amazing fun drums all around, that's for sure. Any of their songs with chaotic drum work would be cool in my book

The band have released albums under the labels Skin Graft Records, Alternative Tentacles (Jello Biafra's label), Neurot Recordings and the self made NUX Organization

I know they've been mentioned here before, but it'd be cool to see I Fight Dragons. For those who don't know them, IFD is a chiptune/pop-rock band from Chicago that sound a little cheesy at times, but have overall very catchy songs...I'd probably recommend them if you're into Ludo, JoCo, or other "geek-friendly" artists.

They said on their Facebook page a couple of days ago that they just left Photo Finish/Atlantic Records and still maintain the rights of all of their songs. Something to note too if I remember right, IFD was to have a song early on in RBN through (I think?) RockGamer but it was pulled from testing after they signed to Atlantic, so maybe their return to independence might mean a possibility for RBN? Not to mention they're also my best friend's brother's favorite band, so he'd go crazy if they popped up.

Anyways, here's some songs for taste:
    The Faster the Treadmill
    Kaboom!
    Money
    DLC list: dlcquickplay.com/user/verreaux
    GT: Verreaux (currently without gold)

Would absolutely kill to see some Gaslight Anthem on RBN. I emailed the band's manager recently, giving him all the links to the charting groups, mentioning how many people would love to see the band make an appearance in rock band, even if they only released the two tracks they were working on two years ago; how a release on RBN would result in a great increase in the band's exposure and fanbase, etc. His (very short, and apparently unenthusiastic) response indicated that he thought rock band was dead. I did everything I could to refute that idea, but haven't heard back yet, so....I tried.

Yeah, I think I know why Rock Band is dead to some people. Because it "doesn't have enough metal." I know they're talking about the Rock Band 3 on-disc setlist, but they obviously didn't look at the DLC list, because right now I think metal is dominating the rock genre itself. I'm not a fan of metal, I actually thought Rock Band 2 and its DLC had the least music I knew, but that gave me a chance to discover new music. I think Rock Band 3 made it really clear who were really fans of music, or just fans of the music they already knew, and refuse to discover anything more. I honestly used to be like this, until I found some new music that I really loved that I could have found out a long time ago.

So all in all, some people think Rock Band is dead because it doesn't have enough music they like, and took that for granted. I actually kind of like it that way, because people on the Rock Band Forums are actually more mature and wise and (ahem) fans of music, unlike the "fans" that Rock Band 3 drove away...

I really don't think this is the case here. I think the people who we lost would be more of the casual gamers who just aren't paying attention. I don't think song preference had much influence on it(though I would imagine that crowd would be more towards mainstream pop than metal on average)

The people who just don't pay attention are the people who think Rock Band is dead.

The "not enough metal" people are the people who don't care if Rock Band is dead or not.
