Green Day's previous ventures sold very well and made money for Harmonix, promoting new singles could turn out like 21 Guns where it goes straight to the top of the DLC pile, once again making the company money.

There, I just justified it. Wasn't remotely difficult.
I was just going for "Oh you're a Green Day fan and you like 'Walking Contradiction' ? Well too ****ing bad, the internet says you can never, eeeeeeeeeeever have it," but that works too.

It's the Guinness Record shortest song ever released as a single. It costs 99 cents on iTunes. It actually has lyrics -- "You suffer, but why?"

If we lived in some alternate reality where Harmonix had infinite resources with which to produce DLC and we all had infinite time in which to enjoy it, I'd say sure, why the hell not? But we don't. The Rock Band platform will not be around forever. There are logistical limitations on how many songs Harmonix and the RBN authors can produce each week, and there are only so many more weeks to go before we've seen the last of the DLC. Another Green Day pack represents another missed opportunity...out of a FINITE NUMBER of opportunities...to make the Rock Band song library more inclusive.

I really hope at some point we get the 3 new CDS in full. I like what I heard from the first one so far so i want the rest. There'd be a lot of censoring too LOL.
Oh Love would have one of the best alternative solos in awhile.

All that amounts to is "don't release songs I don't like." Everyone thinks that, and no one cares.

I would much rather have Harmonix release songs I don't like by artists with no Rock Band content than have them release songs I don't like by an artist with 51 songs available already. I won't pretend that I would appease my inner communist to the extent that I would buy them just to make some silly statement, but you wouldn't be hearing any complaints from me.

Why? What is the difference? New songs are new songs.

Let me put it to you this way - would you be this dogmatically opposed to DLC from Foxboro Hot Tubs, or The Network? Neither of those bands are on the RB platform.
