I'm glad they found a way to bring these back somehow. They didn't have to do this at all. Do people still not understand licensing is a mess after all these years of examples? Big props to them for doing this.
I woulda been even more happy if they threw in Don't Stop Believing and The Final Countdown in there too so we finally would get RB3 versions :/
Day 1 purchase. Can't wait.
Your Love-THE OUTFIELD
The Warrior-SCANDAL
Fire Woman-THE CULT
Caught Up in You-38 SPECIAL
Thanks for clarifying this; I figured they would have RB3 parts since all content released since late October 2010 has had them, other than the free RB2 songs pack. I even remember how every song in the country mega-pack said 'RB3 Version'.
It'll be nice to have harmonies on Spoonman. Those opening parts were hard to do solo.
Would this thread be a good place to register my request to have Enter Sandman and Battery for Rock Band 3? Or should I express it elsewhere?
As recently as last night I was holding out hope for a last-minute switch so that the RB2 songs can be DLC for people who don't want them, but I just realized one could say the same about any of the songs. I would have preferred that those two spots go to new songs like "In My Head" and "Love Shack", but those songs are DLC so I can still play them. Maybe those spots would have otherwise gone to "The Adventure" and "Not Again", both songs I passed on. As for the people who don't care about getting those songs back, I don't care about "Always" or "So Far Away" but I'm stuck with those songs.
People gave up on requesting Sandman because they kept being shot down. It is Metallica's most played song (tied with Bastard of Puppets) pretty sure people still want that song.

FTW!
Yeah the five year thing with Guitar Hero doesn't expire until March 2014 so we've got a ways to wait for Metallica.

Honestly, I would have paid $4 for Spoonman and Give it Away as regular DLC. Getting them back in a whole new game is kind of a buzzkill, especially in a game with such a small setlist and huge portion of it having songs I don't really care for.
But, HMX once again proves that they care about the community in some way by even bothering with re-licensing those two tracks. Props to you, HMX. Just wish you would have released them as regular DLC instead.
