We Are Young is a really strange song. The intro is great, and pumps me up. The Piano + Vocals thing is great, and different from the vast majority of pop songs.

Then we have the time signature change, the song slows down, and the vocal part here is fantastic. It seems that's gonna be the best song ever.

Then the chorus kicks in. And it's BAD. SO BAD. The lyrics becomes awful, and the songs transforms itself into something commercial like nothing else.

I still think that's goin' to be amazing on vocals. Can't wait to sing it. A party song for my group for sure.

So glad to see my love for Queen sparked such an intense debate.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I personally don't think you need to own every single album and know every song by heart to be a fan.

I love a lot of bands, but the only one I have ever owned every album of at one point is AC/DC.

I think that you can say that you love a band if all you love is their radio hits, particularly a band like Queen with a massive number of radio hits.

You don't love a band until you know at least MOST of their catalog. Until that point, you may love the SONGS you've heard by them, but since you have no idea what the band is like overall, you can't really say.

I wouldn't say I love all of Europe if I walked around in Paris for an afternoon.

But he said he loved Queen, not necessarily ALL of Queen. So you would say you live Europe. Just not necessarily as a whole.

No, I already said I would love PARIS. Why would I say Europe if I didn't mean Europe?

IF I was picky and only bought what I liked, I would likely buy 13:

    • Avenged Sevenfold – “So Far Away”
    • Barenaked Ladies – “One Week”
    • Collective Soul – “Shine”
    • Foo Fighters – “These Days”
    • Foster the People – “Pumped Up Kicks”
    • Kool & The Gang – “Jungle Boogie”
    • Living Colour – “The Cult of Personality”
    • My Chemical Romance – “Sing”
    • Queen – “Death on Two Legs”
    • Shinedown – Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)”
    • Soundgarden – “Spoonman”
    • Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Give It Away”
    • Tears for Fears – “Shout”

With about another 6 on the fringe:

    • Blink-182 – “Always”
    • Elton John – “I’m Still Standing”
    • Fall Out Boy – “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More ‘Touch Me’”
    • Great White – “Once Bitten Twice Shy”
    • Iron Maiden – “The Wicker Man”
    • Quiet Riot – “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)”

And then some of the remaining my wife would likely want:

    • Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe – “We Are Young”(maybe)
    • Maroon 5 – “Moves Like Jagger”(definitely)
    • P!nk – “Raise Your Glass”(definitely)
    • Rick Springfield – “Jessie’s Girl”(maybe)

    That leaves 2-4 "bad" songs.

Just say the "argument" in this thread and it is absurd. Just because you love a band doesn't mean you will love every single song they release.

I LOVE Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, but I don't even like every album they released. Some stuff just doesn't sound the same as the other stuff. Bands change, experiment, etc. Look at Green Day. The went from punk to pop punk to rock. And even then not every song they do now is rock.

    Edit:
And the guy said he never heard that song, not that he doesn't know most of their songs.

    I would definitely have bought:
    • Foster the People – “Pumped Up Kicks”

I very well might have bought:
    • Barenaked Ladies – “One Week”
    • Blink-182 – “Always”
    • Elton John – “I’m Still Standing”
    • Foo Fighters – “These Days”
    • Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe – “We Are Young”
    • Living Colour – “The Cult of Personality”
    • Tears for Fears – “Shout”

There is a slim chance I could have been talked into:
    • The All-American Rejects – “Kids in the Street”
    • Collective Soul – “Shine”
    • Fall Out Boy – “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More ‘Touch Me’”
    • Kool & The Gang – “Jungle Boogie”
    • My Chemical Romance – “Sing”
    • Queen – “Death on Two Legs”
    • Soundgarden – “Spoonman”
    • Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Give It Away”

    I would not have bought:
    • Great White – “Once Bitten Twice Shy”
    • Kelly Clarkson – “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”
    • Iron Maiden – “The Wicker Man”
    • Maroon 5 – “Moves Like Jagger”
    • Quiet Riot – “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)”
    • Rick Springfield – “Jessie’s Girl”

I would pay more not to have:
    • Avenged Sevenfold – “So Far Away”
    • P!nk – “Raise Your Glass”
    • Shinedown – Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)”
