    With the fighting stick, you could probably configure it as such you have enough buttons to fit every input. It would probably be a bit unnatural, but you could try.

    DDR pads, I don't think so.

    use the stick for switching lanes, buttons for hitting notes. It seems like the best type of controller for this game to me.

    you only need 2 buttons plus a mechanic to move left or right which is simple on a stick - for a steering wheel it could be the brake and accelerator for buttons. You'll be a double bass kicking machine!

    It has sensors on the sides iirc. Those would work well for switching lanes. Only problem would be deploying power ups.
