No. This was asked months ago, and HMXMister_Game confirmed that the three demo songs are effectively duplicated on the HDD since they're in both the game itself and the song pack. It does by itty bitty inches get one closer to the song limit, but there was no more elegant way to do it.

God it happened again. I'm in a score war with a fellow member here but I always seem to disconnect in the middle of the song. Any prompt to let me know? Nooooo, of course not. Let me waste all my time and coins on a ten minute song before you rip away my cred and coins earned.

I really hope this issue is fixed soon.

Can we get some kind of word from HMX on this? The game is basically unplayable. My connection fails after about 5 minutes or so, so I can hardly get anything done.

Are the servers down for anyone else today? My internet is working fine but I keep getting a message saying that the Rock Servers are down. And, well, this game kinda sucks without power-ups.

Think we have a problem here.
I went and tried this out WITH powerups. I managed to gold star it in one attempt because of this.

I think it's a good idea to make a thread for strategies that can get you gold stars for the default list.

It's a little sad to find this out. Didn't knew RBB does not save any kind of score offline. I am usually connected, but eventually I will be offline somewhere and will not be able to enjoy this game as it could be. Hope HMX patch this up and add a basic score and coin system for the people who are not connected at the moment.

If I had to guess why this is the case, I would say that they want to promote online connectivity. I connect my XBox to LIVE way more now, and I'm doing goals and score duels, but if they allowed for offline play, I wouldn't be doing any of those (unless I had to to get coins, maybe). So they've succeeded in promoting their facebook app, if that's what they were going for.

Sadly this leads me to believe that they won't be changing it any time soon.

I had to download at my grandmothers house that I only go to every other week and only for like 15 mins and i was rushed out the door. When i got home realised I was suposed to download the rest of the songs seperatly but it didnt matter i have hundreds of other songs, played all night, went to sleep, woke up turned the game on and died a little on the inside when i saw that i had no stars on any of the songs i played. The Worst part for me was that the game teased me by letting me use overdrive during the tutorial and i was all "OMG IT PLAY 2 TRACKS FOR YOU THATS SO COOL" now realising i can't even play what i payed for i completly regret buying this game.

I agree that this was probably the rationale. Especially in the early part of the game's lifespan. All I can do is hope that they live up to their generally consumer-friendly reputation and eventually patch in local play that syncs with the servers when the connection is available. I know I'm going to still want to play this game long past the time when most players will abandon it, and it worries me that I will have to depend on Harmonix's servers remaining up indefinitely to do that.

Even if you're almost always connected (like me), their servers tend to have hiccups, and the fact that your song progress will be totally lost if something like that happens in the middle of a song is completely unacceptable. At least a dozen times in like 20 hours I've lost a great run on a song, and it's needlessly frustrating. I shouldn't have to hold my breath at the score screen hoping that my score will actually count every time I finish a song. It's rare, but it's so disheartening when it happens.
