    Patch Blitz to work offline?

With the imminent demise of the Rock Band franchise, I'm hoping that blitz can be patched to have a local based save file. Obviously won't be much more development of server side tweaks and tournaments so might as well at least try to increase it's longevity.

The end of weekly DLC and Blitz goals does not mean the servers are on the verge of being shut down.

The Rock Band franchise is going nowhere. HMX is stopping production on newly released DLC (though RBN will continue to function as normal), but is still supporting the current titles.

    Straight from the FAQ:
    1. Is this the end of Rock Band?

This is the end of weekly Rock Band DLC. Rock Band remains an essential part of the history of Harmonix, and the franchise will always be near and dear to our hearts. We don’t have any Rock Band titles in active development at the moment, and we’ll no longer be releasing weekly DLC, but you can expect us to continue to support the existing titles and the extensive song library. We’re not breaking up the band, but we are taking a break from 5+ years of weekly performances.
and while it doesn't mention Blitz specifically, I think it's safe to assume it's the same with those servers:

    5. Are you shutting down Rock Central servers?

Rock Central servers, leaderboards, and the Music Store should continue to run without interruption for the foreseeable future.
I don't see them shutting down the Blitz servers anytime soon. They've said multiple times that they're not hurting for money, so there's absolutely no reason to do it.

Having said that, it would be nice to be able to play offline, but I don't see that happening ever.

Yeah, some of us made a big deal about this shortly after the game was released and it became apparent how integral Rock Central was to the game's functioning, and subsequent events have pulled that even more clearly into focus. It's a shame, but there's just no money to be made in rewriting the game to have a functional offline mode, so it won't happen. Eventually, this game will just vanish into the ether as though it never existed. Which is a shame, to be sure, but hopefully that won't happen for several years at least.
